During the school season, every morning, I drive by Gibraltar Gardens. Today, the morning of the first day of school, I thought I would stop by at Gibraltar to check out what was still blooming. Most of the previously blooming lilies were gone but there were plenty yet to bloom. Especially after a long work day I had yesterday, it was so refreshing to start my morning with all this gorgeousness. The white lily was as big as my head and was absolutely breathtaking; pure perfection.

One man's trash is another man's photo opportunity
There are plenty of trash cans available yet people still litter. Some are just incapable of cleaning after themselves; shame!!!

Leaving Behind . . .
They say the ocean heals the heart, mind, and soul. If so, then we all leave something, may be a little part of us, behind when we depart from the ocean side.

Sunset at Lewes Beach
My husband and I enjoyed the sunset at Lewes Beach this past Saturday. I did not know one could catch a pretty sunset there. It was a delightful surprise which we embraced as we concluded our siesta time on the beach. It was a bit cloudy that day so the sun did not have its perfect round shape as it was setting yet the colors were amazing. You know what that means... I need to go back there again to catch the perfect sunset :) Until then enjoy these few captures...

Pine Tree
Yesterday after I got home from work, I took a stroll in the neighborhood with my camera. This time the evergreen needles of the pine tree caught my attention. After taking few up close shots I thought it would be cool to try my new technique and get that abstract feel with them. Enjoy...

Waterlilies at Gibraltar Gardens Part II
The other day we had an overcast day which was perfect for photography, especially for close-up floral photography. I took my camera with me to work and planned to go to Gibraltar Gardens at my lunch hour to check to see if all the waterlilies were blooming and finally almost all were. I had been patiently waiting for this moment. The first time I was there, about a month ago, only few were in bloom. Since then I kept checking the pond and voila finally on Friday the array of color was nicely spreading through out the little pond. This little gem in the city never disappoints me. I always find lots of beauty to capture in all seasons.

Taking Chances
This past Saturday, my husband and I did a little late hour siesta on the beach in Ocean City, MD. The ocean was wild, the surf was amazing and after an hour of listening the sound of the ocean and the seagulls and breathing in the aroma of the salty water, I got up to do some beach photography. It was around 7:00 in the evening yet the sky looked so dull, no signs of sunset colors (disadvantages of the East Coast) but at least the surf was awesome so I walked as close as to the shoreline and started capturing the ocean. Then, I took a chance and got even closer. I was having a blast until I got a nice splash that wet me head to toe as well as my camera. I was able to quickly hold the camera up high so it would not get too wet but even so, got some salty water on it. We immediately towel dried it and it is functioning fine so far. If you do not take chances and play it safe, you settle for ordinary, dullness sets in; if you do take chances then you risk getting hurt or being damaged but you may also be up for greatness, extraordinary experiences. I took a chance and got some good stuff as well as some wet stuff :) LOL :) But in the end it is all good. As you may guess, the very last photo reflects the big splash!!
