A moody white Christmas :)
I took these at my brother&sister-in-law's development. The whiteness of the snow, the greyness of the day plus the thick fog made the photos look almost like black & white.

Solomons, MD
Solomons is about 20 minutes to my brother&sister-in-law's house where they have the Calvert Marine Museum now housing the Drum Point Lighthouse. The Calvert Marine Museum is a public, non-profit, educational, regionally oriented museum dedicated to the collection, preservation, research, and interpretation of the culture and natural history of Southern Maryland. The Calvert Marine Museum has grown to be one of the premier visitor attractions in Southern Maryland. Drum Point Lighthouse was moved to the Calvert Marine Museum in 1975. This screwpile, cottage-type light is only one of three remaining from forty-five that once served the Chesapeake Bay at the beginning of the twentieth century. Decommissioned in 1962, the lighthouse fell victim to vandals until moved to its present site in 1975. Beautifully restored, complete with furnishings of the early twentieth century, it has become the waterfront's main attraction and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The museum was closed for Christmas so I peaked thru a fence and was able to get one shot of the ligthouse. That was the only angle I could get. The scene would have looked more dramatic at dusk time when the lighthouse is lit; however, there was no sun to paint the sky at dusk time, besides it was time for me to get back to the house for the Christmas supper. May be next time...

It was not quite a Merry Christmas for these poor seagulls
We spent the Christmas at my brother&sister-in-law's at Chesapeake Beach, MD. It was expected to rain on Christmas day; however it did not start until the afternoon. It was such a grey, dreary day; everything looked so washed out. I still went out to see what was around and I spotted these seagulls on the partly frozen bay water :(
